Damien Brassart trio is a jazz ensemble made up of 3 inspired and inspiring musicians: Jim Monneau on double bass, Diogo Alexandre on drums and Damien Brassart on saxophone. They have already had the honour of playing at the Jazz Station in Brussels in June, following which they had the opportunity to record an album (with the Thöz label).
The trio's music, deeply rooted in jazz and improvisation, suggests letting the flows that inhabit us, question us and move us, to create music that is intense, subtle and inner, constituting a kind of liberatory ritual...
 
Like an inner swell, the music of Damien Brassart, Jim Monneau and Diogo Alexandre carries us along, engulfs us, submerges us, jostles us, rushes us, but also cradles us, reassures us, soothes us, reveals us and keeps us moving...
With ‘Rivières’, the trio offers a sonic immersion into the world of our emotions, an exploration of the invisible currents that flow through each of us. This original project is conceived as an ode to these inner rivers, these often buried flows of emotion that we too rarely allow to express themselves freely. In this new repertoire (‘Erosion’, ‘Déluge’, ‘La chute’, ‘Mémoires du Nil’, ‘Rivières’, etc.), Damien Brassart invites us to hold nothing back, to block nothing, just to let our inner rivers flow, so that through music they find their natural course.
That's what jazz and improvisation can offer us: playing with the fragility of the moment to let what's there flow and enjoy that freedom.
