Pianiste Maria Prokofieva geeft vanavond samen met haar moeder Yelena, ook een gerenommeerd concertpianiste uit Belarus die tot op de dag van vandaag lesgeeft aan het conservatorium van Minsk, een prachtig barok, klassiek, romantisch en verfijnd pianorecital in Huis Midwoud.
Dit bijzondere pianoduo zal werken voor 4 handen ten gehore brengen van Respighi, Clementi, Scarlatti, Schumann and Schubert.

Maria & Yelena biography:
Yelena Prokofieva and Maria Prokofieva, mother and daughter, were born in Minsk, Belarus. Both have been playing the piano since the age of 5. 
Maria was studying at Belarusian Academy of Music (Bachelor, Post-graduate), Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium and at Conservatory of Amsterdam (Master).
She is a laureate and prize-winner of many  International piano competitions:
Emmanuel Durlet (Belgium), Andre Dumortier (Belgium), European Young Soloists Competition (Luxembourg) and many others.
Yelena works as an accompanist and piano teacher at Belarusian State University of Culture since 1976.
In 2018 Maria end Yelena formed a 4-hands "Prokofievs Piano Duo". The following years the family duo became laureates of seven International Music competitions (five 1st prizes) performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and other concert venues in the Netherlands.
