Based in the Netherlands, the group was born of Guillermo’s desire to test his compositions and explore ways to create a more interactive group sound through collective solos. After a year of performances and rehearsals, the band has solidified to bring Guillermo’s vision to life.
With strong roots in swing and bebop, the band’s style explores elements from different genres such as free jazz, seeking to adapt them to contemporary aesthetics, with influences ranging from Joel Ross to Immanuel Wilkins.
The band is currently working on its debut album,
5tet+1
, which will feature the core band alongside guest artists, such as flute and vocals.
