Discover the beauty of traditional Korean painting through Minhwa, an art form rooted in centuries of cultural expression. This workshop centers on painting the peony, a traditional Korean symbol of prosperity, honor, and noble beauty.
Participants will learn techniques for creating soft gradients and rich textures on hanji paper, making the process accessible even for those with no prior painting experience. Using authentic materials, the workshop offers an opportunity to engage with a longstanding artistic tradition while exploring a calm, focused, and meditative way of working.
By the end of the session, each participant will have created a personal artwork that reflects both the symbolism of the peony and the experience of working with this traditional form.
Ontdek de schoonheid van de traditionele Koreaanse schilderkunst via Minhwa, een kunstvorm die geworteld is in eeuwenoude tradities. In deze workshop staat het schilderen van de pioen centraal, een klassiek Koreaans symbool voor welvaart, eer en verfijnde schoonheid.
Deelnemers maken kennis met technieken om zachte kleurovergangen en rijke texturen te creëren op hanji-papier. De workshop is toegankelijk, ook voor wie geen ervaring heeft met schilderen. Met authentieke materialen wordt er gewerkt binnen een rustige, geconcentreerde en bijna meditatieve werkwijze.
Aan het einde van de sessie heeft iedere deelnemer een eigen kunstwerk gemaakt, waarin zowel de symboliek van de pioen als de ervaring met deze traditionele kunstvorm samenkomen.
