PRIDE KNIGHTS
Is a collaboration between partners and banner-bearers, each representing an essential part of queer culture, community, and artistic practice, and actively questioning what queer nightlife and cultural spaces can be. Together with BODY, No Limits! Art Castle and Elmer, PRIDE KNIGHTS is co-created as a programme that captures and celebrates the spirit of our times.
By bringing these different worlds together, we are building an alternative Pride manifestation for the city; one with a powerful activist programme that strives to be as accessible as possible, where alongside theatrical chaos there is space for deeper conversations around the themes that resonate both within and beyond Pride.
With these banner-bearers, we aim to share a hopeful message. A story that shows how things can be different.

BODY
is a queer club night.
Together we create a dancefloor full of possibilities, in which all bodies are treasured. Through music and dance we want to lift our bodies to unknown levels of joy, warmth and intimacy. To let go of everything we’ve learnt about how a body should be.
BODY wants to break with the normative idea of what a body should be, by building a new (night)culture. We step away from the societally-created categories that explain how bodies should be, as we believe that these ideas are limiting. Instead we will learn to listen to others to create a new community that is built around respecting people in how they feel and nresent themselves.
BODY is a collective that is disability-informed and led by both disabled and non-disabled people. We aim to be more accessible to all bodies who are marginalized or excluded from traditional nightlife spaces and queer spaces. BODY aims to creates a welcoming environment for all queer bodies, with special attention to queer people who are deaf, hard of hearing, visually impaired, or people in a wheelchair.

LONG LIVE THE KING
The King is nearing the end of their reign… Who will claim the throne? At the start of the night the Studio of club RAUM will the stage of a dramatic contest. Long Live The King: a theatrical Drag King tournament where six princes battle for the crown. It’s going to be glorious, absurd and spectacular. A once in a life time manifestation, a trail of the times.

Hosted by Jester Elmer, with live performances by Jasmine Karimova, Alice Olsthoorn, Reanny, Hondenfokker en DJ Skipper. Reigning King portrait by Isabelle Kafando will watch the tournament with his court.

“A Refuge for the Fierce Battle-Worn Knight”

While there current exhibition WORLD PRideOTEST highlights the issues that make PRIDE so urgent, we built “A Refuge for the Fierce Battle-Worn Knight” as a space within PRIDE KNIGHTS to unwind and connect, because everyone needs a pit-stop in a month full of important causes.
If the main programme is the battlefield, the armour, the performance, the adrenaline of being seen. This is where the knight sets the armour down. Low-to-the-ground seating, soft light textiles, warmth instead of spectacle: a room that draws on medieval salon traditions rather than the usual Pride pink. A place that holds darkness and joy together, softness after armor, being witnessed without having to perform.
Rest isn’t the opposite of protest, it’s what makes it sustainable, but rest doesn’t mean silence and stillness for everyone. We’re building ACTIVE rest: regulating stimulation instead of removing it, because what brings you back to yourself is different for every person. Noise-dampening headsets. A massage. A face mask moment. Gentle movement to chill sounds while the body keeps softening. A make-up upgrade or a henna moment. Someone to walk you through it all and help you find what you need in that moment.
