The Dark Wave blaast het iconische postpunk en new wave geluid van de jaren 80 nieuw leven in, met een hedendaagse twist.
Dit zestal, sinds eind 2023 in huidige bezetting, smelt brit-pop bravoure en goth nostalgie samen tot een intense, meeslepende sound. Maar met lyrics over mediaverslaving, oorlogsvluchtelingen en eenzaamheid staat de band daarentegen volledig in het nu. Elke (via indielabel Walboomers Music) single, vanaf hun debuut

, veroverde direct de Indie Chart van IndieXL, trok internationale aandacht en werd gedraaid op indie radiostations wereldwijd. Spotify plaatste hun nummers maandenlang in de populaire

Na een indrukwekkend 2025 op Nederlandse en Belgische podia en een krachtig optreden op Eurosonic 2026, brengt The Dark Wave hun debuut EP
trapped behind glass walls
(maart 2026) dit jaar naar podia en festivals. De kick-off hiervan is een concert in intieme setting in café Belcampo.

The Dark Wave revives the iconic post-punk and new wave sound of the 1980s with a contemporary twist.
This six-piece band, in its current line-up since late 2023, fuses Brit-pop bravado with goth nostalgia into an intense, immersive sound. With lyrics about media addiction, war refugees and loneliness, the band is firmly rooted in the present. Every single released via indie label Walboomers Music starting with their debut Seventeen, immediately entered the IndieXL Indie Chart, gained international attention and received airplay on indie radio stations worldwide. Spotify featured their tracks for months in the popular New Alternative playlist.
After an impressive 2025 on Dutch and Belgian stages and a powerful performance at Eurosonic 2026, The Dark Wave brings their debut EP trapped behind glass walls (March 2026) to venues and festivals this year. The kick-off is an intimate concert at café Belcampo.
