Freedom Lecture by Nobel Prize winner Ales Bialiatski
Last year, Belarusian human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski was released after four and a half years in one of Lukashenko’s harsh penal colonies. For decades, he has fought for democracy and human rights through his organization, Viasna. Arrested after the mass protests of 2020–2021, Bialiatski now comes to De Balie.
