Join us for the first session of Beyond the Headlines, a screening series that explores the deep and lasting global impacts of violent conflicts. While the media often focuses on the immediate aftermath, the true complexities and long-term consequences are frequently overlooked. This series aims to shed light on the forgotten stories behind the headlines, diving into political power dynamics, societal shifts, and the lasting effects on human lives.
In this inaugural session, we’ll screen the powerful documentary This is Congo (2017), followed by an insightful aftertalk with Professor Mathijs van Leeuwen and political scientist and author Kiza Magendane.
This event is a collaboration between Political Science/Centre for Conflict Analysis & Management and Cultuur op Campus.
