Van donderdag 10 tot en met zondag 13 april 2025 verandert de Plantage Dok in een ruimte vol experiment en beweging: Dit vierdaagse eventbrengt een dynamische mix van tentoonstellingen, live events, performances, workshops, filmscreening en een rondleiding. Dit is meer dan een tentoonstelling; het is een plek waar kunst nog kan veranderen en waar bezoekers en makers in gesprek gaan. Het thema ‘in beweging’ draait om verandering, migratie en verhuizen — zowel fysiek als mentaal. Het gaat over verschuivende grenzen en hoe verplaatsing invloed heeft op identiteit, herinnering en verbondenheid.

The Plantage Doklaan is a building located in the centre of Amsterdam that has served many functions in its life. It has been a church, a printing business and a school. In 1998 the building was squatted by a group of 10 people who themselves had much experience with squatting and collective awareness in Amsterdam. In 2000 the group bought and renovated the building with government assistance thus securing its future. The Plantage Dok is very much a collective project. It is a building that is run by the people who work there along lines of cooperation and equality. Everybody involved share the responsibility and are encouraged to bring forth their own initiatives. These days some 30 people are present in the building. They are concerned in many fields of activity. There are architects, visual artists, actors, political activists, crafts people, musicians and designers.
