Sam Nieuwenhuijs is a pianist/composer from Haarlem (the Netherlands). He studied (jazz) piano for a total of six years at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Conservatory of Haarlem. After these years of study, he now puts his skills, inspiration and experience into his own original compositions. His inspiration comes from the music of Lyle Mays, Don Grolnick, Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker & many other jazz pioneers.
His debut album will be released in spring 2025 and with that album he hopes to be a new, refreshing voice in the dutch jazz scene. He brings his friends Elian van Buuren (Drums), Rinke van Winzum (Electric Bass) and Jeline Weening (Alto & Soprano sax) to the stage. Get ready for a fresh and smooth sound.
