| Bettina is a Hungarian jazz vocalist and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Her musical world is rooted in jazz, with a particular passion for lesser-known standards and hidden gems of the repertoire.
Drawing from the rich traditions of Hungarian folk music, she explores the connections between folk melodies, storytelling, and the improvisational language of jazz. Her music brings together the intimacy and freedom of jazz with the earthy, expressive character of Hungarian folk traditions.
Rather than limiting herself to one musical language, she is interested in discovering what happens when different traditions meet. Her repertoire moves between reimagined jazz standards and music inspired by Hungarian folk roots, creating a sound that is personal, exploratory, and deeply connected to tradition.
Through her voice, she seeks to give new life to lesser-heard songs while creating space for the melodies and spirit of Hungarian folk music to unfold within a contemporary jazz setting.
Every Tuesday, enjoy a jam session at Jazzcafé Bebop, hosted by various musicians. Come listen or join in. No registration is required. These jam sessions are made possible by Birra Moretti, a delicious artisanal Italian pilsner.
